When Alex was three months old, he was diagnosed with achondroplasia, a common type of dwarfism. He’s had many complicated and painful medical interventions and Alex, now 17 has had a number of major procedures at the UVM Children’s Hospital. Alex has undergone brain surgery, facial surgeries, leg surgeries, but through it all Alex was an example of courage. For many years Alex has been a champion for educating others about dwarfism, especially school children. He is passionate about informing them to combat bullying.
