Agent Success Story – Jeff Schulz
Jeff Schulz, with RE/MAX Action West in Chanhassen, MN, is reeling in opportunities through his involvement with the Waconia Lions.
Jeff is the Chair of the annual Take a Kid Fishing event, which the Waconia Lions has sponsored for the last 18 years. More than 40 kids, ages six to sixteen, participated in this year’s event, which took place last weekend on Lake Waconia. They enjoyed breakfast, a morning of fishing, an afternoon of learning how to clean fish, and followed it up with a fish fry lunch. Each child took home a fishing rod, ice fishing rod and some tackle.
Jeff says he got involved with the Lions and, more specifically the Take a Kid Fishing event, because it provides a great opportunity to give back to the community and make a difference in the life of a kid. “This was a new opportunity for these kids and they had such a great day. I am very passionate about fishing and hunting and think it’s really important to show kids how much fun they can have outdoors.”
Although it wasn’t intended, Jeff says the lines do cross from volunteering to business venture. “It’s natural for community members, or other volunteers, to come up to me at other Lions events and ask about the housing market or certain properties. I’ve definitely made some business connections with my involvement.”
