Agent Success Story: Greg Kuntz
Get Involved – Take a bow to Greg Kuntz with RE/MAX Specialists in Lilydale, MN – he’s former royalty.
Greg was the 2001 King Boreaus for the St. Paul Winter Carnival and says getting involved was a great business boost.
Greg started his royal reign in 1996 when he was named the Southwind Prince but has held a number of positions throughout the years. “In 1999 I was a Festival Chairman and volunteered my time to help with the 10 day event. In 2004 I was Chair of the Board and helped organize the last Ice Palace. But 2001 was a big year; I was nominated then named King Boreaus, “King of the Winds,” and made about 300 appearances throughout the year to nursing homes, schools, hospitals, businesses. You name it and the royal troupe went; we dressed up in character and told the legend of the Winter Carnival.”
No matter the year or role, Greg’s involvement with the Winter Carnival has had a common outcome: increasing his networking circle. “Since 2004 I’ve been a Mentor for new legend characters, that’s about 20 new people a year. I help them prepare mentally for their year of service. I help them with their presentation and performance – they make about 300 appearances a year throughout the States and Canada. I help them become a team and it becomes a tight group of people.”
All of Greg’s work and commitment is on a volunteer basis. It may sound like a lot of “time away” but as Greg explains, it’s worth it! “One third of my business comes from the contacts I make at the Winter Carnival. Through my involvement and volunteering, I meet dozens of new people a year. And as the networking circle grows so do referrals. They all learn my name, know what I do and thanks to them my business has grown by a third.”
