June RE/MAX Out-State Housing Reports Now Available

It’s overall good news for home buyers and sellers in four out-state areas of Minnesota and Wisconsin. The June RE/MAX Housing Reports show gains in year-over-year data for both Northeast and South Central Wisconsin. Southeast and Southern Minnesota both saw some very slight decreases in certain activity and price levels but overall these real estate markets are looking good for consumers looking to move.

Housing Stabilizing with Continued Growth Says Latest RE/MAX National Housing Report

In May, both home sales and home prices rose at double digit rates above levels seen in May last year. Sales increased by 11.6% and the Median Price by 10.8%. May marks the 4^th month in a row that home sales and prices have risen higher than the previous month and higher than the same month last year. The data suggests that the housing recovery that began early last year is gaining momentum in 2013. Reduced inventory continues to be a concern, although for May and April month-to-month changes have shown signs of stabilization. The RE/MAX National Housing Report, a summary of MLS data from 52 metropolitan areas, also found that the number of homes for sale in May was nearly unchanged from April, but still lower than last year by a significant 26.4%. The corresponding Months Supply in May was a low 3.5, a clear indication of a sellers’ market. The result of low supply and high demand is rising prices and a low average Days on Market, just 70 in May. As home prices rise, millions of homeowners gain positive equity. With a brighter financial outlook, many will feel comfortable selling their homes and the inventory shortage should be greatly reduced.

I am excited to announce that RE/MAX North Central has secured a “Silver Level Sponsorship” of “Le Festival des Montgolfières à Duluth” (Duluth Balloon Festival) on behalf of our RE/MAX offices. This event is new to the Duluth area this year and has already created quite a buzz in the media. The balloon festival will take place September 20-22 at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth.

During the festival weekend, our RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon pilot, Steve Sinnen, will fly the RE/MAX balloon at all scheduled balloon events. He will also display the RE/MAX branded basket and chase vehicle at Bayfront Park during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

As part of this sponsorship, our RE/MAX agents and offices are granted usage rights to the event logo with the text “Silver Level Partner” on all stationary, promotional materials, and product advertising throughout the contract period.

The RE/MAX logo is displayed on the home page of event web site www.duluthballoonfestival.com as well as under the “Sponsor” tab and the “Balloons” tab where a photo of our balloon is prominently displayed first among all balloon photos. The RE/MAX logo will also be displayed on-site at the event and on email blasts to 10,000 area homes.

One great benefit is that “RE/MAX” will tagged on rotational radio commercials in conjunction with the “Le Festival des Montgolfières à Duluth”. These commercials will run in various time slots, on four (4) different Duluth area radio stations, leading up to the festival.
