RE/MAX LLC is marking its 40th year by celebrating extraordinary growth and success at a time when the recovery in the nation’s housing market is gaining momentum. As the real estate industry overcomes market challenges, RE/MAX continues as a leader in market share, agent productivity and international expansion. Co-founded by Dave and Gail Liniger on January 30, 1973, the company has attained countless achievements throughout four decades.

  • The “What Moves You” social media contest attracted thousands of consumers to share their personal stories online and vote for the winner of the $10,000 grand prize.  Monica May of St. Louis, Missouri won for the inspiring story of her young granddaughter Sophie’s battle with cancer.
  • A redesigned RE/MAX University launched a revolutionary learning platform that promises to set the standard for the real estate industry.  The new platform is a full-fledged, interactive learning experience that RE/MAX Associates can tailor exactly to their needs.

On Wednesday, January 30, RE/MAX employees and guests will mark the 40th anniversary with a special event at the Headquarters building, located at 5075 South Syracuse in Denver.  And, beginning on February 25, thousands of RE/MAX affiliates from around the world will gather at The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino for the annual RE/MAX R4 convention.

For the 10th time in 14 years, global real estate franchisor RE/MAX, LLC has been recognized as the highest ranking real estate company in Entrepreneur magazine’s 34th annual “Franchise 500.”   RE/MAX has now earned the year’s number one ranking in the industry’s two most respected franchise surveys.  With an increasing agent count and a recent expansion to 5 countries including China, RE/MAX continues to grow, with an unequaled presence in more than 85 counties around the world.

RE/MAX Associate Overjoyed with Support!

Mara Mayberry of RE/MAX Results in Woodbury, MN is busy counting.  Not her commissions or transactions – but her blessings.

Mara is a seven year cancer survivor.  In fact, when she started with RE/MAX Results in 2005 she was bald and in a baseball cap, going through treatments.  That same year she became involved with the American Cancer Society, walking the Survivor Lap of the Hudson, WI Relay For Life.

Since then she’s dedicated herself heavily to the American Cancer Society, creating a team for the Woodbury Relay For Life event in 2006, and joining the planning committee in 2007.  2012 has been Mara’s biggest year yet.  Mara was Chair of the 2012 Relay For Life in South Washington County and helped raise $277,832 – a $7,832 surplus of their initial goal of $270,000!

Mara says there were 119 registered teams and more than 1,200 participants, including some of her RE/MAX Results colleagues.   “14 agents from the Woodbury RE/MAX Results office generously and graciously helped in Relay For Life’s fundraising efforts.  Between April and August they donated either a percent of their commissions or a flat rate, raising $5,715.”

But truth be told, RE/MAX Results actually helped raise $11,430 for Relay for Life. “When Marshall Saunders (RE/MAX Results’ Broker/Owner) found out about my involvement in Relay For Life, he approached me about becoming a sponsor and set up a matching goal, donating an additional $5,715.”

Mara says while exceeding their financial goal was quite rewarding, it’s the relay event itself that gets her every time. “It’s very empowering and comforting for a survivor like me to participate.  There were more than four thousand people at this year’s South Washington County Relay For Life, and they’re all there reflecting on those we’ve lost to cancer, those going through it, and celebrating those who have overcome cancer.  It’s tremendous.”

RE/MAX Realtor Adds Drama and Finds Business!

Amy Jurek, RE/MAX sales associate with RE/MAX Advantage Plus in Savage, MN, is no stranger to the world of TV.  In fact, you can see her in action in on Monday, September 24th at 9:00pm in a new episode of House Hunters.

Since 2006, Amy has appeared in a total of ten HGTV programs, including House Hunters and My House is Worth What?.  She says it began simply enough with an audition tape, some good stories, and fun clients.  “Everyone has a real estate story and showcasing my clients’ experiences on national television is a blast”

In the next episode of House Hunters, Amy and her first-time home-buyer clients will be followed around Minneapolis as they check out three different condos for sale in Whittier Park, Northeast Minneapolis and Elliot Park.

Amy says while the TV experience is fun, it’s slightly different than the real experience.  “They take what I do every day as a Realtor and add a little drama to it.”

But the experiences have paid off.  Amy says she’s had new clients reach out to her after seeing her shows air on TV.  It’s also opened the doors to her corporate relocation business.  “They can see me and get a feel for my personality without actually meeting me. And I think that helps them to feel more confident in me as a business partner.”
