RE/MAX Creates Comprehensive Program Promoting First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit
(Denver, CO, August 6, 2009) – Even as the National Association of REALTORS® recently reported that first-time homebuyers make up a third of the market, there’s still a sizable group of homebuyers who have never heard of the government tax credit that could give them up to $8,000 to help them buy their first home.
RE/MAX is releasing a comprehensive program aimed at connecting first-time homebuyers with experienced RE/MAX agents to get answers and find how they can claim the tax credit before it expires on November 30.
“First-time homebuyers are a critical component of the housing market recovery,” said Margaret Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of RE/MAX International. “The more homebuyers who know about and take advantage of this credit, the less inventory we’ll have on the market and the more home prices will stabilize.”
The RE/MAX $8k Tax Credit program includes recently launched videos on YouTube and remax.com that promote the first-time homebuyer tax credit. The YouTube video, at http://www.youtube.com/remaxintl, heads to the street to find out just how much the average consumer knows about the tax credit. The answer? Maybe not as much as they should. The first-time homebuyer tax credit video on www.remax.com provides answers from RE/MAX Associates to important questions, and a second video on remax.com gives firsthand accounts from first-time homebuyers who made use of the tax credit incentive.
In addition, RE/MAX offers its agents a wealth of educational materials, through the award-winning RE/MAX University, that walks the agent through nearly every detail of the tax credit incentive. Videos and pdf downloads can be found in the ATOD section of Mainstreet.
RE/MAX is leveraging its extensive communications network, including corporate social networking accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter, to promote the videos and informative articles about the tax credit.
