With $10,000 you could provide transportation services to 400 women unable to drive to a chemo appointment.  Or you could provide mammogram services to 66 women. Or you could provide prevention education programs to 495 people. There’s a lot you can do with $10,000.

On Sunday, September 28th, I had the privilege of being a part of Team RE/MAX at the Susan G. Komen Massachusetts Race for the Cure. As many of you know, I’m still relatively new to RE/MAX, and this was my first Massachusetts Komen race. I was absolutely blown away by the passion and commitment of our team members to this cause – their energy was electric and contagious.

The day before the race, our team had raised $8,851. 24 hours later, we had raised over $10,000. But it wasn’t just their ability to raise money that was amazing – it was the way all of these individuals came together as a team to rally around this cause. I met many of my teammates for the first time on Sunday, but felt like I was meeting up with old friends.

I was completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of support & optimism surrounding this day. I consider myself especially lucky to have been part of it.

The race may be over, but there is still a lot of work to be done. With a mission of 100% screening, 100% access to care, and 100% follow-up, the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen is committed to reducing the impact of breast cancer in the state by funding local, community-based breast health programs, particularly for people who face barriers to care. Team RE/MAX  will continue fundraising through the end of October in support of this goal. I’d like ask you to consider supporting our team with a donation and become a part of this amazing movement.

From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to give a huge THANK YOU to Team RE/MAX for all of your hard work & dedication!
