The thought of summertime in Wisconsin conjures up images of family getaways to the cabin.  According to our recent Wisconsin Recreational Property Report, the interest in second-homes as vacation properties continues to be a popular summer opportunity.  As our report shows, Wisconsin is experiencing healthy activity in prime cabin markets such as the Door County area, Greater Northwoods region, and the Cumberland area. Brokers from across the state indicate that consumer demand is reaching new heights as home buyers, now more than ever, are willing to pay higher prices for move-in ready, waterfront locations.

Door County Area“The Cape Cod of the Midwest” is seeing an uptick in demand for recreational homes due to a recent rise in water level, which has been considerably low for the last 10 years. This raises the marketplace’s outlook and has also made an impact on average sales prices, raising the average nearly 18 percent in some areas.

Greater Northwoods AreaWisconsin’s Greater Northwoods area, sporting more than 3,200 lakes, streams and ponds, has recently become a hot spot for land sport enthusiasts. According to local real estate agents, a recent expansion of bike and ATV trail systems has buyers flocking to the area for more than just its Lakeland reputation.

Cumberland AreaThe housing market for the “Island City” of Cumberland, as well as the surrounding Beaver Dam Lake area, is starting to make waves.  Steadily recovering from the market crash, local real estate experts say consumer confidence is rising and the area is currently experiencing a seller’s market with heightened buyer demand and homes selling at asking price.

The Wisconsin Recreational Property Report and press release was shared with media publications throughout the state, providing relevant and timely housing information and showcasing RE/MAX as having the local real estate experts – helping build and spread brand awareness.
