If you hunker down and really think, we’re sure you could come up with a list of a hundred reasons, maybe even a hundred and one reasons why going paperless is better. Better for the environment. Better for your budget. And most importantly, better for your clients and business.
You’re probably thinking, with the excessive amount of forms exchanged during a transaction, there’s no way you can take your business the all-digital route. Some documents need to be signed, others reviewed, and when some customers or colleagues are too far away to explain the details face-face things can get complicated.
But…there’s a solution! Here to the rescue is none other than the Apple-powered device, the iPad. Okay, the iPad may have been a typical guess for some of the technology-savvy agents out there. The iPad is great for reading PDFs, it’s easy to use, clear, and overall has multiple benefits. Beyond this we’d like to introduce PDF Expert 5 by Readdle. It’s a fantastic app for the iPad that allows you to organize and keep track of all files with its Dropbox and iCloud compatibility feature. Which means there’s no more excuses and no more, “I’ll send it back when I get to the office.”
There are a couple of ways that you can use PDF Expert with your iPad to simplify things and two major ones below:
- When showing homes you can create a PDF of the listings to be shown that day and notate them using PDF Expert using your iPad. Then you can save that file in the client’s folder on Dropbox with the date in the title so that you can easily remember what homes were showed to that client on any given day. This is a great help if you are one of those real estate agents who have a desk full of MLS sheets with your notes on them. If you want a clean desk, consider this option!
- Another great aspect to PDF Expert is the editing options. You can save several different versions of typical Agreements of Purchase & Sale that you use frequently (Freehold, Condo, Freehold with a pool, etc.) and when your client says they want to submit an offer, you can quickly pull up the blank document on your iPad, fill in the blanks (price, closing date, etc.) and even manipulate, add or delete clauses as needed. Once you’re finished editing the document, have your client sign it and send it to the listing agent all from your iPad!
