RE/MAX Acclaimed Properties and RE/MAX Real Estate Center have merged their two brokerages to create a robust footprint in the Southern Indiana market. The retirement of RE/MAX Real Estate Center owner and industry-veteran, Barbara Wright, served as the impetus of this merger. Moving forward, the two offices will now both serve clients under the name RE/MAX Acclaimed Properties. The brokerage will be led by owners Andy Walker, Bryan Paine, Tracee Lutes and Chris Smith.
RE/MAX Acclaimed Properties—with an office located in Bloomington, IN—will now have a second location in Bedford, IN, and will serve Lawrence, Jackson, Orange, Martin, Green and Washington counties. Combined, the offices will boast a total of 43 agents.
“We look forward to leading the RE/MAX Real Estate Center agents into the next chapter of their real estate career,” said Andrew Walker, broker and owner of RE/MAX Acclaimed Properties. “We are honored to have these seasoned, ambitious and enthusiastic agents join our team. We are confident that this merger will improve the overall client experience for our buyers and sellers as well.”
Barbara has had a long and fruitful career in real estate. Beginning her career in 1981, Barbara served as the owner of RE/MAX Real Estate Center since 2000. Over the duration of her career, she achieved several RE/MAX INTEGRA honors recognizing her sales and production levels—including the RE/MAX Hall of Fame award, the RE/MAX 100% and Executive Club awards, and two Broker/Owner of the Year awards for Medium Market. Barbara has held multiple real estate designations, including her GRI, Master GRI, CRS, ABR, ACP and CDPE, and was heavily involved with the Bedford community, serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for three years and the Economic Growth Council for four years. She has also been active in her PSI IOTA ZI Sorority and the Presbyterian Church for the last four decades. Barbara took pride in serving on her local and state Board of Realtors and served as the Bedford Board of Realtors (BBOR) Director for two three-year terms and was named Vice President for two terms. Barbara has also served on a number of committees throughout the years, including the Grievance, By Laws, Governmental Affairs and RPAC committees at a local level and the Awards, Education and RPAC committees at the state level. For her services on the Board, she was awarded the BBOR Hall of Fame award and the BBOR Realtor of the Year two times.
“Barbara truly made her mark in the Bedford market and established RE/MAX Real Estate Center as a staple business in the community,” said Gary West, office manager of RE/MAX Real Estate Center. “Our new relationship with Bloomington powerhouse, RE/MAX Acclaimed Properties, will only push our brokerage forward. We are excited to create more value for our current and future clients, and believe this merger presents endless possibilities for growth.”
“We couldn’t be more pleased to align these two exceptional RE/MAX brokerages,” shared Fiona Petrie, RE/MAX INTEGRA Managing Director of U.S. Operations. “Barbara built an elite company with quality agents and we’re excited to watch our amazing leaders at REMAX Acclaimed Properties carry on her legacy and grow the brand in the greater Bedford area.”
